6. Living a Life Set Apart
Growing in holiness is a lifelong journey of aligning your life with God's will. It requires intentionality, perseverance, and reliance on His grace. By choosing holiness each day, you not only reflect God's character but also experience the fullness of life He designed for you.
"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
(1 Corinthians 10:31)
Parable: The River Stone and the Patient Tortoise
Beside a flowing mountain river lived a patient old tortoise.
Every morning he walked slowly along the riverbank. One day he noticed a small rough stone resting in the shallow water. Its edges were jagged, and the rushing current pushed against it constantly.
The young animals of the forest laughed when they saw it.
"That stone will never change," said a fox. "It is too rough."
But the tortoise visited the stone every day.
Week after week the river moved over it. The water rolled it gently against the sand and other stones. Slowly, almost too slowly to notice, the sharp edges began to soften.
One morning the tortoise returned and saw that the once jagged stone had become smooth and shining under the sunlight.
A young rabbit nearby asked, "How did the stone become so beautiful?"
The tortoise smiled.
"The river did not shape it in a single day," he said. "It was shaped by steady movement, patience, and time."
The rabbit looked again at the shining stone and understood.
Great change often happens quietly.
Moral:
Holiness is formed slowly through daily surrender, steady steps, and a heart willing to be shaped over time.
