High in a tall oak tree lived a young bluebird named Elia.
One spring morning, Elia built her very first nest. She gathered soft grass, small twigs, and feathers she found along the forest path. Carefully, she shaped them into a safe little home on a sturdy branch.
At first, Elia took great care of her nest. She kept it clean and strong, protecting it from wind and rain.
But as the days passed, she became careless.
She stopped repairing small cracks. She left broken twigs hanging loose. When strong winds came through the forest, the nest began to wobble.
One afternoon, an older robin landed beside her.
"Your nest is beautiful," the robin said kindly, "but you must care for it."
Elia looked around and saw the loose twigs and scattered feathers.
"I didn't think the small things mattered," she said.
The robin gently replied, "A good home stays strong because it is cared for every day."
So Elia began again.
She replaced weak branches, tucked soft grass into the walls, and kept the nest clean and sturdy.
Soon the nest became strong once more - safe, peaceful, and full of life.
As she rested inside it that evening, Elia understood something she had not seen before.
The nest was a gift, but caring for it was her responsibility.
